Women's Ministry

Women are very active throughout our churches.  They have weekly Bible studies and serve in leadership positions in their churches.  Many participate in literacy training in the church at Kamkaniba.   Our women team together to reach out to new villages and share the gospel of Christ.  They have been very active in regional and national Women’s Conferences, including hosting the national conference. These women are committed to the Lord and work to have money for their various activities and ministries. They have learned how to make soap, raise animals, make donuts and knit.

The International Mission Board invited Shattering Darkness to participate in being trained in how to present an oral presentation of the Bible.  Four of our women have completed the 140 hours of training and have, in turn, trained 19 additional women in our villages for 100 hours.   These 23 women are providing this training in villages, homes, in the market and with children.

One of our key women’s leaders, Madeleine Somé graduated at the top of her class in 2017 from the Bible School in Koudougou.  “Mado” was the first woman to receive Biblical training at the school in its 30+ year history!

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
