”A Christian Teacher has lately become a father; his wife is also a Christian and they live near…The father-in-law of the teacher took him aside one day and said: Why don’t you take your wife to the exorcist? (witch-doctor) The teacher replied, “I do not wish to; I do not believe in it at all.” His father-in-law said, “Don’t be afraid of the European. Do what other Christians have done – go to some village and have your wife exorcised there; the European will know nothing about it.”

The teacher replied, “I am not afraid of the European, and he has not taught me to fear him. He has taught me about God, and I fear God, and He will see me wherever I go, even if I hide myself in the forest. I cannot run away from Him.” (Rev. Godfrey Dale, 19)

May it also be said of us, “They have taught me about God, and I fear (revere) God. I cannot run away from Him.”

Psalm 139!
