We have just reflected on our need to “Remember.” Remember God’s love. Remember His pardon. Remember what “our” salvation cost Him! Remember His patience. Remember His call. And so, Beloved, let us take time to remember: God is faithful to hear and respond to every prayer that we utter according to His perfect will!
God hears the prayers of godly pastors. He hears the prayers of obedient seminary professors. He hears the prayers missionaries. He hears yours! Many think erroneously that only pastors or missionaries or Bible teachers can share the gospel! Many think that only those “called to vocational” ministry are responsible to evangelize, to disciple and to confront sin and error.
The biblical Ezra was a priest and scribe. The biblical Nehemiah was “cup-bearer” meaning he tasted the wine prior to giving it to the king in case it had been poisoned! Nehemiah was a servant. He was a layman!
Nehemiah 1:11 “Please Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and to that of Your servants who delight to revere Your name.”
