Women here in Burkina Faso have been treated as “objects” and “possessions” for centuries! They have never read or heard of being created in the image of God! They do not know that our Jesus values them to such a degree that He died and rose again to give them salvation and newness of life!
Our ministry has spent many years developing lessons and teaching about the women of the Bible in their various roles. Hannah (1 Samuel) is one of the women we teach about. We teach of her desire for a baby. We teach of her faith. We teach of her prayer life. We teach of God’s faithfulness in response to her prayer and promise.
“ O LORD of hosts, if Thou wilt remember me, and not forget Thy maidservant, but will give Thy maidservant a son, then I will give him to You all the days of his life….And it came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; and she named him Samuel, saying,’ Because I have asked him of the Lord’.” 1 Samuel 1:11, 20
